Working together
Assign a task to more than one person
Some jobs need a few pairs of hands. Make it clear who is involved, then use the task description to agree on the little details.
Choose the people doing the work
This workflow is for shared project tasks. You own your personal tasks; use a project your teammates can access for team work.
- Open a task in the relevant project, or create one there. Make sure you have permission to change its assignees.
- Open the assignees field and select the eligible people who will work on the task. If someone is missing, check their team membership and project access.
- Check the selected people. Add a short note in the task description about who is taking which part; if you are creating a new task, save the form.
- Ask each teammate to open the task and use their available acceptance option. “Accept, start later” accepts the assignment; “Accept and start” also starts that person’s own timer.
A shared task does not mean one shared timer
One person starting work does not start the other assignees’ timers. Everyone manages their own start, so check whose record you are looking at when you review time spent.
An assignee and a reviewer have different jobs. When a project requires review, the eligible reviewer must be someone other than the assignees; a project manager with the right permission makes that choice.
