Task timers and time records

Time tracking: see where your day went.

A “quick job” can take the whole afternoon. Track time on the task, then use your own work records alongside your estimates when you plan the next one.

Start when the work starts

Keep time on the task you are working on. Later, you won’t have to remember which record belongs to which piece of work.

  1. Open the task you are about to work on. Start it using the timer action available for its status and your access.
  2. Pause when you take a break and resume when you return. Stop the timer when you finish working.
  3. Check your time records. If you did some work without the timer, add it with a manual time entry.

An estimate and a work record tell different stories

The estimate helps you plan; recorded time shows the work you have done. Choose a date range in time reports to look through your records.

If a task took longer than expected, you have something concrete to use when planning similar work.

Each teammate starts their own work

Starting your timer on a shared task does not start timers for the other assignees. Each person uses their own work flow.

Planned dates and reminders are not recorded working time either. You can keep the space in your calendar separate from the time you actually track.
