Time tracking
Keep your work time with the task
You do not have to remember where every minute went. Start the timer when you begin, then take a look at what was recorded.
Start, take a break, check your record
Open the task you are about to work on. If it is a team assignment, you may need to complete its acceptance step first.
- Use Start on the task when you begin working. Setting a date or a reminder does not start the timer by itself.
- Use Pause for a short break and Resume when you return. Use Stop to close the session; follow any separate review and completion steps the task requires.
- Open the task’s time log and check the recorded session. If you forgot to run the timer, add a manual entry with a start time, duration in minutes and a short description.
- Choose a date range in the reports tab of Timeline. Use your recorded time to make the next estimate a little easier.
A quick check before adding time later
Before adding a manual entry, check whether the timer has already recorded that work. That way the same minutes do not get counted twice.
Check the time zone shown in the manual entry form. If you are working somewhere else, make sure the start time matches the work you actually did.
